Did Coke Studio Just start to Suck bad or is it only me.
Coke Studio is known to be the epitome of music events here in Pakistan, Ive seen people literally waiting a year for this Coke Studio to begin and bring in a new flavor to the whole Portfolio of Pakistani music that they crave. But unlike the great tunes presented last time i just cant flow with the music made this year. Is it me or is it everyone i dont know but the music does seem to lack luster other than one Arif Lohar song that i found a bit interesting.
Rohail the brain behind most of the music played a great part in vital signs before they parted and his next big thing was Coke Studio. Loved by most and getting much of the positive response it deserved Coke Studio has been associated more with the Brand presence of Coke Drink than Coke the Brand itself. Just the sight of a Coke bottle is enough for people to remember the songs that they most love but i personally think and yes its my thought only and i am not at all saying that everyone will think so, that Coke Studio isnt fun anymore and the songs are just to slow to appeal the majority that got glued to Coke Studio. Now i know its the work of many musical geniuses but the brand managers at Coke should have been listening to the music and giving their insight because i personally think that most of the people who loved Coke Studio face the same peril that i do when listening to Teena Saani or the other guys who ive never seen before i.e. Sleep.

Serenity: A joint collaboration between India and Pakistan
As we reported yesterday about the project serenity where Pakistani and Indian musicians came together to bring us one joint music collaboration with a message and a cause, today the album or whatever you would like to call it is out and downloadable for free as promised by Stampedes Inc and RoadcrewRecords. Metal bands from Pakistan and India come together for peace and serenity.

The Metal and Rock Gurus from both side of the border have decided to come together and bring a message with a cause. Stampedes inc of Pakistan and Roadcrew records from India have decided to bring this new project up and distribute the compilation for free which is going to be called serenity. This is not any publicity stunt or any step for making money rather its a compilation of 6 songs from Pakistan’s side and 6 songs from the best on the other side and the cherry on the top is that it is going to be free for everyone around the world. The theme of all the songs is decided to be peace and serenity. Keep checking the roadcrew records link here to see if the compilation is up.

Summers, Load shedding of electricity and Overloads Dhol Baje Ga.
I remember when i was preparing to get into some university some 4 years back SAT was the only thing that met the mind completely in that complicated situation. All that made sense was analytics and complex English words. Today i face some serious complication again which are similar to those but different in dynamics.
Job situation is bad as the country although fiscal situation seems to be getting better is sinking into a perpetual recession, Summers hit us bad with temperatures reaching record levels in Karachi for the month of March ( Already 42 degrees) and load shedding is going to a part of our daily routine again. Rather i would say electricity is something that has left our lives leaving us in the darks of a summer night. In this situation were hope seems to be leaving the current generation i beg to differ and feel that its darkest before Dawn so the worst has hit us and we can expect something better from our future. One song that seems to hit this situation in the best way possible and match completely with the feelings of the normal man who still seems to stay strong and hope for the best is Overloads – Dhol bjae ga, i personally think it should be the theme song of our government try to extract some happiness out of us eh . Listen to it and share your thoughts i seem to get happy and upbeat while listening to it.

Overload Performs in Karachi with its new Vocalist Misha. (10th-Nov-2009)
With all these distressing news coming from all over the Country, U-Rock is perhaps the only Brand sponsoring concerts nowadays. One of these concerts was held last night at Carlton Hotel in which ‘Over-load’ was the mainstream band.
Arrangements of the concert were pretty good, as the turnout was better than expected.
